New Orleans International Airport (MSY) does not have a train station, and therefore no direct train connections, there is however an intermodal facility in central New Orleans that is served by Amtrak as well as Greyhound, Megabus and NORTA.

The intermodal station is located on 1001 Loyola Ave. New Orleans, LA 70113 and it is called New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal.

Amtrak offers three long-distance train routes at NOUPT: the City of New Orleans, the Crescent, and the Sunset Limited.

The City of New Orleans operates between New Orleans and Chicago with 18 stops along the way. Trains run daily and the journey takes approximately 19.5 hours one-way.

The Crescent operates between New York’s Pennsylvania Station and New Orleans on a daily basis. The journey takes approximately 32 hours one-way and it stops at a total of 33 destinations.

The Sunset Limited operates between New Orleans and Los Angeles with three round trips each week. The route has 20 stops in total and the journey takes approximately 46 hours from one end to the other.
