Before departing from New Orleans International Airport (MSY) there a few things that are good to know. We have listed some of the most important amenities and services that are available at the airport.

Parking at Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport

The airport offers four different parking options with a total of more than 8,000 parking spaces.

The Short Term Parking Garage offers half-hourly parking and is connecting with the terminal building via a walkway directly from the 4th floor of the parking garage to the third floor of the terminal.

The Long Term Parking Garage offers parking for longer stays, as well as half-hourly stays, and it is located just east of the terminal across from the arrivals area.

The Surface Lot offers convenient parking a short walk from the terminal at a lower rate.

The Economy Garage is remotely located with an optimized airport shuttle service for transferring to and from the terminal and the parking. Credit card is the only accepted payment method for this option.

All parking options except for the Economy offer free parking for the first half hour. The Economy parking charges $4 for the first half hour. All parking options charge $2 per each additional half hour period, after the first initial half hour, but the maximum daily parking fee is lower with each of the options in order they are listed. Transfers at Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport

Rental Cars – All car rental companies at New Orleans Airport are located in the Consolidated Car Rental Center that is located approximately 15-20 minutes from the airport terminal. A shuttle service is provided for the transfer between the two facilities. Services are available 24/7. Rented vehicles are returned to the Car Rental Center unless otherwise informed by the rental company of choice.

Buses – Jefferson Transit Authority (JET) operates the route Veterans (E1) and Regional Transit Authority (RTA) operates route Airport Express (202) between New Orleans city center and MSY. Hotel Shuttles – Hotels sometimes offer an airport shuttle service to their guests for convenient transfer to and from the airport. These are arranged by the traveler directly with the hotel.

Ride Shares – Ride Share companies are available for transfer through a request through their app.

Greyhound – Greyhound, Megabus and NOTRA coaches and buses do not stop at the airport. Bus or taxi transfers are the best options for those wanting to transfer to the airport.

Two Pet Relief Areas can be found at the airport. One is located outside between the terminal, Level 1, and the Short Term Parking Garage. The other area is located on airside, post-security, near the Shake Shack.
