Transfers at New Orleans International Airport

Rental Cars – A Consolidated Car Rental Facility is located approximately 15-20 minutes from the airport with the MSY Car Rental Shuttle service provided for the transfer between the terminal and the facility. All the rental car companies that provide services at the airport are located here. Shuttles leave approximately every 5 minutes from in front of the Long Term Parking Garage adjacent to the terminal. Exit the terminal from the Baggage Claim area on Level 1. Buses – Two public bus transport providers offer their services at the airport, JET and RTA.

JET (Jefferson Transit Authority) provides route Veterans (E1) between the airport and central New Orleans with stops along the way.

RTA (Regional Transit Authority) provides route Airport Express (202) between the airport and central New Orleans, also with stops along the way.

Taxis – Taxis are found outside the Arrivals area of the terminal. A journey to the CBD (Central Business District) or the French Quarter (west of Elysian Field) will cost $36 for up to two passengers and for three or more passengers the fare is $15 per person. Airport Shuttles – Walk-up shuttle transfers are available from the airport. Tickets are purchased at the counter between Doors 3 and 4 on Level 1, Baggage Claim. The fare is $24 per person for a one-way trip including up to three bags, and $44 per person for a round-trip including up to three bags. Additional bags might be subject to additional charges.

Ride Shares – Ride Share app companies collect their customers from the middle curb outside Doors 7-11 on Level 1, Baggage Claim. After the ride has been requested through the chosen company’s application travelers join the company’s queue to wait for their turn.

A Pet Relief Area is located outside on Level 1 between the terminal and the Short Term Parking Garage. After exiting through Door 5, turn right. There is also a Pet Relief Area located near Shake Shack on the airside.
